About Winter wonderland Snowmakers

Our Story

Growing up in Charlotte, North Carolina, snow wasn’t something we were used to. We’d get a snowstorm here and there, but rarely enough to really enjoy our favorite winter activities outside. As a kid who grew up skiing and loving everything about winter, it was always tough knowing I could only experience real snow a few times a year—usually on ski trips.

Whenever I went skiing, I was fascinated by the snowmakers lining the slopes. The idea that a machine could actually make real snow was incredible to me. At the time, I had no idea that making snow on a smaller, backyard scale was even possible. And as the winters in Charlotte seemed to bring less and less natural snow, I became even more determined to find another way.

As someone who loved snow—and wasn’t very good at accepting that I couldn’t have it—I started researching how snowmakers worked. I found tons of information online and eventually discovered companies already making residential snowmakers. That was all I needed to see. I wanted snow in my backyard, and I wanted it now.

There was just one problem: 13-year-old me didn’t exactly have the money or experience to go out and buy or build a residential snowmaker.

So I kept learning.

Eventually, after researching different designs and understanding more about the snowmaking process, I decided to build one myself. My first design definitely wasn’t pretty, but when the temperature finally dropped, it was time to see if it actually worked. I had almost zero confidence that it would.

Then I turned it on—and it made snow.

From that moment, I was hooked. That first winter, I ran my homemade snowmaker every chance I got. Whenever the weather cooperated, I was outside making snow. For the first time, I could bring skiing, sledding, and everything I loved about winter right into my own backyard in Charlotte.

Some of my favorite memories from those early days are skiing and sledding on the snow I made with friends in my backyard.

Over the next few years, I kept improving the design. Each version got better, and eventually I started building snowmakers for friends and other people I knew. That’s where Winter Wonderland Snowmakers was born.

By late 2024, more and more people were asking me to build snowmakers for them. At that point, starting a business felt like the natural next step. Building snowmakers for a living had always been a dream of mine, and suddenly, we were actually doing it.

During our first winter selling snowmakers, I learned a lot. But one thing stood out more than anything else: there was a gap in the market. There were already companies building great residential snowmakers, but many of them were simply too expensive for the average family to justify.

I wanted to change that.

From the beginning, our goal has been simple: make backyard snowmaking easier and more affordable. We wanted to build snowmakers that delivered the performance and quality people expected without making backyard snowmaking feel like an unreachable hobby.

In July 2025, we took our biggest step yet. We began working with local CNC manufacturers to develop an entirely new design—one that could give customers a professional-quality residential snowmaker at a price point we felt was missing from the market.

Later that year, we introduced our TG line of snowmakers. The idea was simple: professional construction, straightforward operation, and affordable pricing. The response exceeded our expectations, and the TG line quickly became the foundation of what Winter Wonderland Snowmakers is today.

Ever since I was a kid, snow has been something I’ve loved. Now, I get the opportunity to bring that same excitement to other people who love winter just as much as I do.

And as Winter Wonderland Snowmakers continues to grow, we won’t forget why we started. Our prices will stay affordable. Our quality will stay top-notch. Our customer service will remain a tob priority. And above everything else, we’ll stay focused on our original goal: introducing more people to the incredible hobby of backyard snowmaking.

Because for us, it has never been about just selling snowmakers. It’s about giving people the chance to bring winter home.
